Bluesky are considering paid subscriptions
Leaked pricing plans spark conversations

Leaked screenshots show Bluesky+ subscription plans
With 20+ million users and adding ~100,000 every day, Bluesky’s bills are starting to stack up. Oh, and they also raised $15 million in October.
All the signs are here: time to make some cash.
Leaked subscription plans
Screenshots of potential subscription plans leaked on Bluesky's GitHub repo. They show an $8 per month plan, or $72 per year, for 'Bluesky+' which seems to include:
A profile badge
Custom app icon
Profile customisation
Higher quality videos
Higher video upload limits
Most, if not all, of these features should remind you of X's paid subscriptions which include essentially the same perks (plus Grok and fewer ads).
The profile badge is likely related to the verification system CEO Jay Graber hinted at a few days ago. The actual implementation of the verification system is, as of yet, still unclear.
It ain't done until it's done
Bluesky and several developers have warned that the screenshots may not represent the actual final product.
“Some of these are likely to make it, but please don’t take this as an actual list of planned features. We’ll announce the actual list when more work is done,” Bluesky engineer Dan Abramov said on the platform.
