How do you say 'Agent' in nine languages?
Microsoft Teams will soon be able to tell you
Microsoft Copilots / microsoft.com
Hello, bonjour, nihao.
It's a big day for Microsoft as they announce a bunch of new and upcoming features. And by 'a bunch', we mean a bunch -- peep at this release blog post.
Plucking a cool feature out of the haystack
One of the most exciting features they've announced is real-time translations on Teams calls.
Imagine. You log on for morning standup with parts of your team in Singapore, Paris, and Berlin. You start running through your blockers in good ol' Queen's English and wham, your team hears you in their language (but your voice).
Just imagine.
This feature is coming to Teams in early 2025.
And the haystack is big
We have to talk about some of the other AI features coming up, so brace yourself. Big inhale...
Copilot actions, to automate simple, everyday tasks.
Copilot pages, to collaborate on artifacts.
Teams transcript translations in 31 languages.
Copilot in Outlook, to help you and your manager find the 15 meeting-free minutes you have every month (and fill them with a meeting).
Employee self-service agent, to help employees find answers to common HR and IT questions.
Microsoft are leaning into the AI opportunity with all the strength of their enterprise SaaS ecosystem; and it shows.
