According to Meta, users spend over 7 billion minutes on calls Messenger calls every day. (Gotta admit, that's a lot more than we thought.) Their latest product release aims to improve the quality of life of this eager user base.
Here's what's new:
If you're on WiFi, Messenger will automatically make your video calls HD.
Messenger introduced a noise suppression feature, so your call with grandma is crystal clear, even if she has the TV on blast.
Messenger shipped what is perhaps the most defining AI feature of our time: AI-generated backgrounds. You can't stop innovation.
You can now trigger Messenger calls by asking Siri.
Finally, you can also leave voice notes when your friend is rude enough not to pick up the phone.
Meta is on a tear
Don't know if you noticed but Meta shipping like crazy.
On Instagram, Meta shipped a bunch of DM features, a feature to reset your recommendation algorithm, teen protection features, and more.
On Threads, Meta shipped communities, an educational portal, custom feeds, and more.
Across all Meta products, they've shipped a bunch of AI features as well as open-source AI models.
The pace of their product teams is a sight to behold.
