Notion continue to expand

The Notion product team continue to venture off-piste and, tbh, deliver the goods. Here's a quick recap of what they released at Make with Notion last week:

  • Forms. You can now create forms to capture feedback, requests, etc. All responses are stored in a Notion database.

  • Mail. After taking on calendars (July 2024), Notion's next target is email. The app is 'coming soon' though the previews look cool.

  • Automation. You can now automate some tasks within Notion, including sending emails, marking tasks as 'done', and more.

  • Marketplace. Buy and sell amazin' templates and workflows from the Notion Marketplace. Some creators are reportedly making seven figures; not a bad side gig!

Could Notion end up replacing your product management tool?

In the beginning, Notion was a pretty bog standard content management too. Was.

Over the past year or so, they have released a steady stream of interesting features (forms, emails, automation, tables, charts, etc.) and dramatically evolved their positioning.

And I’m not making this up:

Ninety-three. That’s the average number of tools that companies use in 2024. Shocking, right?

Notion is on a mission to ease this pain by bringing everything you need to get work done into one powerful, flexible, and beautiful tool.

John Hurley, Head of Product Marketing at Notion

Replacing the ‘classic’ product stack (Jira, Productboard, ProductPlan, etc.) with Notion wouldn’t be too far-fetched.

Would you make this switch?
