The State of Product Jobs Report

We collected the latest product-related job data for August 2024.

Below are some of the key numbers, trends, and insights.

Worldwide product job market

The worldwide market for product roles rose by 2.88% MoM.

The largest market share is, of course, captured by the ‘Product Manager’ role. About 61% of all product-related advertised jobs are for a PM role.

More senior roles take a significantly smaller portion of the pie. Job postings for:

• CPOs have declined by 8.33% (from 84 to 77) MoM.

• Group Product Managers have declined by 14.98% (from 267 to 227) MoM.

Bucking the trend, VP of Product posts have increased by 3.86% (from 285 to 296).

Remote vs. on-site vs. hybrid product jobs

On-site roles are making a comeback, rising 1.81% MoM (from 18,873 to 19,215).

Combining on-site with hybrid shows remote roles capturing just over 20% of the product job listings.

There are still plenty of remote opportunities, however, with 8,577 remote product roles listed worldwide. The most common remote job is, of course, Product Manager, followed by Senior Product Manager, and Product Designer.

Product roles by regional markets

The North American market dominates the job listings, closely followed by EMEA. LATAM trails far behind, despite a small increase in listing MoM.

• The ‘Product management’ trend is definitely slowing down from its COVID peak. Yet, product roles continue to rise MoM.

• “Product manager” is the most advertised job title in the product community.

• North America advertises for the most product jobs across the global market.

• Latin America is trailing far behind in the share of advertised product jobs.

• Google Trend ranks ‘Product management’ at a middling interest over time.

• On-site product roles are on the overall rise month-on-month.
