In December 2024, the worldwide market for product roles fell by a massive 10.83% MoM.

‘Product manager’, usually the most frequently available role, fell by 11.64%. Only one role saw an increase in open positions: ‘VP of Product’, growing by 0.39%.

Other key movements in December:

  • CPO roles have declined by 24.71% MoM.

  • Head of Product roles have declined by 22.73% MoM.

  • Sr. Product Manager roles have declined by 11.23% MoM.

Remote vs. on-site vs. hybrid product jobs

Are we seeing the resurgence of remote roles? Available remote product jobs are seeing a second (consecutive) month increase, growing from 8,577 to 8,937, or 4.20%.

For the first time in a while, on-site roles have fallen below their usual 50% stronghold:

  • 46.64% of open roles are on-site.

  • 27.46% of open roles are hybrid.

  • 25.90% of open roles are remote.

  • December saw a huge decline in open product roles across the board, -10.83%.

  • Open remote roles grew for the second consecutive month, 4.20%.

  • On-site open roles fell below the typical 50% of available roles, 46.64%.

  • The APAC region saw the largest pullback in open roles, -12.58%.
