Worldwide product job market (January 2025)
It’s a rough start for the new year. In January 2025, worldwide market for product roles fell by 5.5% MoM. ‘VP of Product’ roles saw the largest reduction, down 11% (from 255 to 227).
The key movements in January have been:
Group Product Manager roles grew by 14.3%.
Product Manager roles shrunk by 6.6%, accounting for the largest decline of raw open roles (1,384 jobs).
Head of Product roles rose by 6.5% (from 537 to 572).
Remote vs. on-site vs. hybrid product jobs

The downturn in open product roles is reflected equally across all job types.
Remote jobs have taken the brunt of the hit however, shrinking by 5.6% — a loss of over 500 available remote product jobs.
Hybrid roles remained roughly unaffected, reducing by a mere 1.7%.

EMEA not only survived the pullback but even gained a few open roles, growing by 2.7% in January 2025 compared to December 2024.
The other regions weren’t so lucky, with Latin America and North America both struggling with a 12.5% and 8.6% decrease in available product jobs respectively.

Trends & insights in product roles (January 2025)
Open product roles peaked at 38,687 last year (October 2024). In January 2025, open product roles hit 32,000, a huge 15% off the peak.
Open on-site product roles have fallen for two consecutive months, with a 3.7% decline between December 2024 and January 2025.
EMEA is the only region that seems to maintain its product job market, even growing by 2.7% month-on-month.
